after using this 4200 for many years i tried to fill the lower paper cassette with 8.5x11 plain paper as a secondary paper source, however the cassette when filled with paper (less than 50 sheets) doesn't fit in the machine it seems the paper is too long for the cassette but the manual says it should work, am i missing something

If you remove the cassette from under the printer and then empty it of paper.
Now hold the cassette in both hands, the end that goes in the printer in the left hand, and if you look at the other end in your right hand you will see the paperback stop in the middle of the cassette marked ( O ).
Squeeze the back stop with your thumb and pull the other end with your left hand and the cassette will extend out for to fit the larger paper size, then youll be in business ok.. :)
