Mikling,

What has to be done to use pigment inks in these printers? What inkset would you recommend?

Somebody mentioned that there is a workaround for the R1400 cartridges. Can you point me in the direction for that procedure? How to reset the chips and refill method.
I will say that the best workaround for the R1400 cartridges is to buy a set of refillable cartridges and avoid the headaches trying to refill the OEM cartridges.

Are they still available? Last I heard you couldn't get refillable epson stuff anymore, since it is legal to import them anymore. Like I said, I have been out of the Epson loop for a while and this is last I heard.

Any new info on decent refillable carts, resettable chips and GOOD bulk ink for the Artisan line -- particularly for North America? Ebay has plenty of vendors selling TO98 cart-based filled compatibles, bulk inks, refillables and CIS setups -- with resettable chips -- for this line. But I haven't seen any reliable feedback regarding the compatibility/performance of these yet. In particular, looks like the only bulk ink available comes from China. Image Specialists/Precision Colors and Hobbiecolors don't seem to offer ink for Artisans -- perhaps due to stiffer formulation infringement laws for Epson's latest inks?
