I did initially try and scan but it produced some form of pixelated digital artifacts. Did some research and by all means with a tripod and quality lens this works. Spent 48 hours cleaning it up, dust and scratches. Was an amazing surprise to be handed the original by my 90-year young Aunt whom I hadn't seen for 31 years, and the story she told how my Grandmother had waited 5 years for Grandad to return from the war. The wedding was in January 1946!

But yes, the original photo is only about 5x7 inches so... Thank you dear Canon for making this possible...

Hello @Photographic. I am glad you are getting a handle on your problem. It so satisfactory when that happens. Good luck with getting it done.

I have a question that is not totally for this forum, but it is to you as a member. I noticed that your close up photos are very good quality. Might I ask what device you use, because I have been searching for a way to get better photos with my Android, Galaxy Tab A, but have had no success.

@Others, please let me know if this is out of line "here". I would then edit out this question. Thanks.

I also recommend for your Android to use the free app Snapseed. It can work wonders and while there are other apps available I do recommend this one. Snapseed. Free. It may take a while to get used to it, but I believe it doesn't matter how perfectly we take a Photo by whatever means, it can always be enhanced with such an (post-processing) application.
