Inkjet evolution?

Had a discussion today with a friend who is a sublimation fan. We got to talking about how far dropletsize etc can go with inkjet. Is there a limit? If 1 picolitre is now - how much smaller can it get?

Probably not any smaller. When the print head is ejecting such small droplet of ink while it is moving back and forth on top of the paper the ink droplet will likely be blown away from reaching the paper.
