Ink monitoring after refill - PGI-5

I refilled my PGI-5 cartridge recently and noticed that the onscreen ink monitor is still showing a full cartridge even though it is (visually) 3/4 full. The cartridge is the original Canon and was reset with the Redsetter. Is this unusual?

No it is not, suddenly you will see a drop in the onscreen ink monitor and there is still the correction from the prism. The reason, I think, is that a refilled cart contains less ink then the original one and the chip still thinks the amount ink of ink is more than you put into the cartridge. After a while the prism is giving a pulse back to the printer to correct for the amount in the ink compartment.
