About 6 years ago I was getting so tired of all those huge photo viewing / editing / printing applications that took forever to load.

A friend of mine showed me an application that ended up as my favorite media program EVER! It is called IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/ )

Some of the features I like most:

It's FAST
It's small
It's easy to learn and use
It's amazing what such a small program can do: crop, resize, rotate, batch convert, etc. etc. etc.
It's REALLY FAST
Oh... did I mention it is FREE... YES, it is freeware!

While it isn't meant to completely replace those other photo / image editing applications, it will replace them the other 80% of the time when you want to just view / edit an image quickly and easily!

I downloaded it last week at the urging of one of my friends. Haven't had time to play with it much yet, but it does seem user friendly as well.

I can't say enough good stuff about this program.

If you couldn't tell above my favorite feature is how quick / small it is. I've got a pretty fast PC, but most of the image applications (that do more than just view, rotate, resize) take SO LONG to load and open the image. Irfanview is quick and easy and does SO MUCH!

DISCLAIMER: I'd like some expert photo guys to do some tests to determine how well it does on resizing, etc. and keeping the quality up. My eye isn't as trained as many of you so I'd like to get your feedback.
