i865 reports no print head

[Soporose]

Canon i865 with Duplex unit and optional paper tray.

FIRST PROBLEM:

Was working fine, good printouts, etc. Changed Black 3e cartridge and printed some more, then...

The Printer Status dialog reported:
service error 5100

Indicator light status:
Green light solid - flashing orange in groups of 2

Reset it many times but could not get past that. Left it OFF overnight then tried again - new situation!

NEW PROBLEM:
==========

Previous error report has disappeared, to be replaced by:

The Printer Status dialog reports:
The appropriate print head is not installed

Indicator light status:
Stays solid Green

ACTION TAKEN:
=============

I removed the print head and soaked in hot water, renewing water regularly for a couple of days. Placed back in printer, but still reports no print head.

Many thanks for any tips.

PS. Does anyone know where there is a complete set of error number and light code meanings for this printer?
