Been wondering why my invoice printer (a trusty CIS equipped D88) wasn't printing magenta about 2 months ago. So, knowing this sort of thing is usually sediment build up, particularly with the Magentam, I went to clear the clog.

I pulled the cartridge, used one of my pull-through adapters, and drew through 50ml of ink, clamped the tube (to stop air getting in while I removed the adapter), removed the adapter, replaced the cartridge and did a quick test... It printed some magenta so I figured (again, based on experience) that it would clear with a bit of rest and left it overnight.

Next day... no magenta but it wasn't critical so I left it for six or so weeks until today... Went to go through the same routine again only to discover the reason for the lack of ink...

Did I forget to unclamp the tube last time? I think I did. Amazingly, unclamped the tube and it all works again... Go figure!!

Doh!... :/

:) :D

I have found refilling to be an extraordinarily humbling experience ... and "that's a good thing".

When you watch a high school graduate refilling tech knock out a batch in minutes, you can easily get a false sense of confidence. The learning curve is typically steep, and can be expensive.
