I have an HP 7740 inkjet printer that is about two years old. I use it rather infrequently and noted a problem in a picture that I tried to print this morning. One part of the photo was a bright red and the printed page showed this as a pale green. I then printed the diagnostic sheet that comes with the HP software and noted that the magenta area of the page was essentially blank. I then t tried the built-in head cleaning routine a total of 3 or 4 times with little, if any, change in the test page.

I then removed and reseated the ink cartridges. This had no effect. I then removed and replaced the printhead, again with no improvement.

Any advice about the best way to remedy this condition would be greatly appreciated. I've attached pdf's of two of the diagnostic pages to help show what I am seeing. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Jerry

Welcome to the forum, Lilmoose.

Until the issue is resolved do not print anything but the nozzle check.

the magenta area of the page was essentially blank
Have you tried a new or known working Magenta cartridge yet? Try this and print a nozzle check and post on the forum along with your observations as well.

Thanks - I will obtain a new cart and see what that does.
