HP PhotoSmart-C7280 - Ink Re-fill Question

I'm in Ontario, Canada an my local Staples Store has the HP PhotoSmart-C7280 on sale for $199 (reg = $299) My question is, can I refill the six cartridges my self and do I need to "trick the chip" somehow?

I've had a Lexmark 6150 for 5 years now and have done my own refilling with OEM ink since the beginning very easily. Now I'm hearing that the chips in new cartridges prevent this.

This is strictly for home use but I realy wanted a unit that has stand alone faxing. I've had Canon's in the past with very good success as well. Any other brand with equal options for suggestions are welcome.

Is there a Canadian reseller? Canadians must be able to get them from somewhere I would think.

Any Canadian users around who have found these chipped refillable tanks localy?

Yes, I've looked on Ebay but I only found one seller for the chip only, no clear plastic tanks. There has to be a Canadian option/location, I just haven't found it yet.

Is there a reason why you don't want to order from the USA? Cost is not much more depending on where in Canada you are.

They won't deliver to Canada, that's the problem.

Your cartridges are HP #02.
To Reinstall the cartridges after refill is to:

1. after placing the cartridge(s) in. A prompt will display, "Original HP ink depleted"
2. On your printer press the right arrow key.
3. A prompt will then display "Attention"
4. Press the "OK"
That's it.

Hope it works for you.

Do a printhead cleaning ever two weeks, if you think its time to refill. Refill right away, better safe than sorry.
