Hey. Anyone know the difference between the HP Deskjet 3845 printer and the HP Deskjet 3845xi printer? Is the 3845xi better for photo printing, made for certain operating systems, runs faster, etc? What's the "xi" stand for? HP.com doesn't seem to tell any difference.. perhaps because these are older models. Thanks!

Lovemycollegeprinter,... HP uses the "xi" code on all kinds of just about every family of printer they make. I am looking at a HP PSC 2175xi right now. This is a all in one print, scanner, copier. The XI code typically means there is some extra feature or expanded feature over the other models. In scanners it means that I can enlarge or reduce something I scan by up to 400% where the next lowest model can only do 200%. I've compaired many printers like this before and believe me the differences are not very much. You can find the information at the HP web site. Here is a link to the HP support page for multifunction printers. below that is the same link for just printers. ONce you are there you can search out your printer and typically they while have a "Comparison chart" that shows the features for each printer model.
