I have a HP 1300 laserjet. I had not used my printer since last 2 months. When I got a page printed it printed a blur with two dark lines in betwwen. Then I printed a page with Black, Neutral grey and white blocks.
The output is

Sample of the actual page I tried to print

I just replaced the OPC drum and the output is much better now. Still there are some weird vertical lines. Anybody have any guess what could they be?

Those grey vertical lines could be the PCR. If you take a look it might have marks all along it that match the ones that are printing. You could try giving it a clean with distilled water and a lint free cloth. It might help

Thanks magoolio.
I just cleaned it with plain water and the vertical marks have decreased somewhat but the horizontal marks are still there. Any idea what may be the cause for these?

I managed to find the reptetive defect list for the 1300.
You need to measure the distance between one horizontal line and tthe next.
if the distances is;
75mm - Drum
37mm - Mag developer
37mm - PCR
56mm - Upper fuser
62mm - Lower fuser
45mm - Transfer roller

Hope this helps

I wasn't aware there was something like this. Even though I have a different laser printer, excellent concepts to remember if my printer misbehaves.

Good stuff, magoolio.:thumbsup
