The subject pretty much says it all :)

Are there sensors in the cartridge that send info to the printer??
Or
Does the printer just give you an estimate of how much ink is in your cartridge????

Any info would be very helpful.
Thanks

Answer: YES!

In some printers it is an actual sensor in, or pointing toward the cartridge. In others it is a guess based on the number of times the nozzles are fired and # of head cleanings. AND on some, it is both an actual sensor and a guess... see here:

Yup, it's a good place (tell a friend!) :)

We're trying to build a community where we can all learn and grow in our inky fingered knowledge! Do a search and you'll find answers to a lot of questions.

Hopefully as people grow in knowledge they can come back and help those who are new.
