There is a way to get rid of all such chip problems - Epson or Canon - just get a Mega/Ecotank printer model.................

That's correct, but there's no free lunch. You pay considerably more for Ecotank/Megatank printers, if compared to the equivalent models with cartridges. Choose your poison..

Thanks for all the insight/input. I don't have a second Maxify to test with. When I first started refilling Maxify in early 2019 I couldn't find XL ARC chips for my MB2720. The only chips I could find where one-time-use XLs and non-XL ARCs. I bought both. I'm almost out of the one-time-use XLs and will be using the non-XL ARCs shortly.

@Artur5

I do not recall your every post, including that from February 2021. I don't recall all of mine, like my congratulatory post to you in your picture thread. :idunno

You tell em.. :thumbsup

Yes they are initially dearer but you get that back in spades with the amount of extra ink you get with it..:ya
Your maths don't match mine.
For instance:
Maxify Megatank-> comes with 3 bottles of 135ml (C,M,Y) + 1 bottle of 170ml (Black). Total= 575ml.
Maxify MB series -> Starter black cart contains 35ml. Starters C,M,Y contain 14ml each. Total = 77ml
Lets say that with a Maxify Megatank you get 500ml of extra ink.
Cost differential between the MB5150 and the GX6050 is roughly 300 euros.
With 300 euros you can purchase 1500ml of Canon GI-56 ink in bottles, be it C,M,Y or Bk.

@The Hat, it looks like our planets are today in opposite phases..:p

I don’t know how much ink comes with the Maxify Megatank but it’s a lot more than you’ll get in the cartridges, and I am very happy with the (56 inks) bottles I bought.

My Maxify has not even burped since I used OEM ink and is not the slightest bit bother any more, not one single manual head clean, she a new printer now..

Once they keep to their own orbit everything will be fine, out of phase or not, I can live with that.. :)

I agree with you that OEM GI-56 is the best ink for Maxify printers. You're using it righ now and so it does @palombian. Probably I'll switch to OEM too for CMY inks. My Inktec for these colors is practically exhausted.
Instead, I have still almost 1 liter of Inktec black, which has been working fine since the beginning. So, if I switch to GI-56 black it won't be anytime soon.

Most if not all my problems were with the black ink, and the other three colours less but still needed a clean from time to time, but now with OEM the differences are chalk and cheese, even the cost was pretty reasonable.. Canon bottled inks are the way to go..
P.S. I never taught you’d hear me say that.. :hide
