Another request to the Forum's hive mind. I'm posting in hopes that someone knows where this small (25mm x 10mm) spring belongs. I'm deep into trying to rescue an Epson P5000 printer that I acquired after it sat unused for 2+ years and now, despite multiple cleanings, will still not print yellow, although all the other nozzles/channels are working. I've gotten to the point of taking the print head out and flushing it manually. However, when I unscrewed the mounting bracket and lifted the print head out of the printer, I found two springs. The purpose and location of one of them was obvious - it helps position the print head horizontally. However, the other spring ( see photo) is a mystery.

Any suggestions as to where the spring in the photo belongs and what it does would be most welcome. (The Epson service manual doesn't mention it nor does it show up on the blow up parts diagrams that come with the service manual ). I've cleared the print head and am ready to put everything back together, but I expect the printer will not be happy if I leave out this spring.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Stephen
