Hi all,

I have a Canon MP500....and have just seen the dreaded WASTE INK ALMOST FULL....is anyone able to help with directions of how to empty it myself? Also...what other printers take the ink cartridges BC24/BC21...they are for an MP290 I think.

I'm a little confused, your printer takes PGI-5 and CLI-8 cartrdiges, doesn't it? I believe you mean BCI-24 and BCI-21 cartridges. They generally are used in different printers because they each come in black and color versions. What is your interest in those cartridges?

Thanx for your reply...I should have stated that we had 2 printers, our Canon MP290 died, but we still have a heap of ink cartridges for it and was thinking maybe there is another printer i could buy that takes the same cartridge. I do have the Canon MP500, with the WASTE INK FULL issue.

Reading from a genuine BCI-24 box :

PIXMA iP1000/iP1500/iP2000
PIXMA MP130
S200 S300 series
i250 i320 i350
i450 series i470D series
MultiPASS F10/F20
MultiPASS MP360/MP370/MP390

I believe that all of these are long out of production.....check eBay and/or craigslist
