Ex medical/ophthalmic photographer (30+ years doing that) + a few years commercial photography.
Purchased an Epson 3800 for $1.00 it was not registering inks consistently. Read a few posts and have got it going by getting some more refillable cartridges, and a chip resetter and by a combination of resetting and swapping reset chips (on top of original cartridge chips) from new to old cartridges got it all going along with replacing maintenance tank (keeping for when new one registers full). Found a few cleans unblocked all inks printing perfectly via ethernet connection, except for the odd not loading paper fault - great prints, very happy.
