I am looking at the Samsun CLP-300 laser printer. I think I can get it for $180can what seems like a good price for laser printers.
Currently I print out mostly black and white but I still like to have the color option since I can see myself when I need it for a assignment I will not want to be running around to find a place to print it(especially if I need something right away and can't make it too a place to print out the crap). Also I know the price of color is 50cents to a $1 a page.
So I would say I probably print 80% of black and white 20% color(when I print color it is quite a bit at one time since it usually ends up being an assignment).
I don't see myself printing pictures out with it since I don't have a digital camera.
So if I get this it would be my first laser printer and I got a few questions.
1. Is it easy to print double sided with laser printers?
2. How long does a opened toner cart last? Like the problem with my inkjet printer is that I think the color carts don't get used for long stretches at a time and the dry out.
3. Has anyone bought this printer? is it any good?
So now I saw that toner carts are expensive for them(but I guess they last a long time too).
Are there any places that sell refills one? Can poor quaility ones damage the printer? Since right now I only tried to refill my ink jet once and I used
http://www.image-specialists.com/ and now my i560 is screwed up. Like the color Magenta and Yellow keep leaking into each other. So I am not sure if it was bad ink or if it was because the printer was old(prob 4-5 years old) and it was coincidence that I noticed that the ink colors where screwed up after I refilled them. Since the black works and cycan seems not to leak into anything else.
Also this place has to ship to Canada.
Another question I am wondering do you refill toner carts yourself or do they just sell pre made ones for you?
