Free Epson 4900 and 2200 on CL. Is it worth my time?

So I've learned a lot about repairing inkjet printers in the past few months and saw this ad on Craigslist. Was thinking of making the hour drive to pick them up. Any thoughts? http://honolulu.craigslist.org/mau/sys/5185803328.html

In my experience it is worth only when it is a model/series you own already, have ink, resetter, spare printhead etc.

the 4900 etc models are reported to be much more prone to clogging than the previous models, I would not take that unit even if you have a chance to get it working again, with effort, more effort than the previous owner spent already. And even if you get it working again clogging may come back.

4900 is a DOG of a printer that I would not use YOUR fuel to get there.....it will cost a fortune to feed and Epson just rub their hands together when you call asking for help.

Does great prints when working....

I made the same error, my first pigment photo printer was an Epson 2100/2200 with a nasty clog in the yellow.
Received a Canon PRO9500 afterwards and never looked back (sorry for Epson).

Go outside to make photos i.o. reviving the pioneer times.
