Free Epson 4900 and 2200 on CL. Is it worth my time?

In my experience it is worth only when it is a model/series you own already, have ink, resetter, spare printhead etc.

Epson 3880. Canon Pro 9000,
the 4900 etc models are reported to be much more prone to clogging than the previous models, I would not take that unit even if you have a chance to get it working again, with effort, more effort than the previous owner spent already. And even if you get it working again clogging may come back.

4900 is a DOG of a printer that I would not use YOUR fuel to get there.....it will cost a fortune to feed and Epson just rub their hands together when you call asking for help.

Does great prints when working....

I made the same error, my first pigment photo printer was an Epson 2100/2200 with a nasty clog in the yellow.
Received a Canon PRO9500 afterwards and never looked back (sorry for Epson).

Go outside to make photos i.o. reviving the pioneer times.
