I bought a batch of Canon virgin CLI and PGI-5Bk cartridges. I've had no problems flushing out the CLI dye cartridges with clear water from my kitchen faucet, but am at a loss as to how to flush out the PGI-5Bk pigment cartridges. Water obviously doesn't work. I would appreciate any suggestions, photos, videos, etc.

You can flush the CLI-8 cartridges so the sponges become white or almost white. When you flush a PGI-5BK cartridge the sponges will not become white. When the sponges have changed color from black to a uniform medium grey and water runs clear from the cartridge, the flushing is OK. I would not recommend using Windex or other cleaning agent for flushing, as residues may change the properties of the sponges or the refill ink.
