Epson Stylus Color 600

I've been trying to recover the printhead of the above machine for the past several days.
Been the usual route with software cleaning cycles and printhead cleaning solution.

I'm down to what appears like one black nozzle not firing in "Normal" mode.
It may also be a "timing" issue, as the gap is about "one pass" wide.
Printout is perfect however, in "Best" mode.

In my PDF Service Manual a setup utility on floppy is mentioned.
Could this be a setting or a reprogramming of the EPROM that requires this utility?

The adjustment program the manual refers to is for resetting the ink counter once it reaches it's limit and making adjustments to the print quality. You can perform more intensive head cleans with the adjustment prog also.

Thanks for the reply, Mike.

I've run the SSC Utility's deep cleaning regimen. I don't know if that's equal to the head cleaning app that you refer to.
It's now printing a perfect test pattern and there is no problem with "Best" mode.

It is Normal mode where it's leaving a very thin skip about 3/8" apart.
I'm wondering if it's a timing (paper feeding) issue and if so, how that could be adjusted.
