Thought I'd share this one as it's still rather open ended.

Had an R1800 user reach out in desperation to help resolve a problem they're hitting with their printer.

The symptoms are as follows:
- Select "photo" paper in any form and the printer starts pulling the paper into the printer, halts with a paper jam error before allowing the paper to spit out with the paper feed button
- Print using plain paper or any other non-photo paper/media setting and the printer works fine.

To give a little further detail. The issue started around 2-3 months ago and the printer isn't a second hand one either.

Having done a little digging it seems that it could be that there's an issue with the paper sensor and in my search I located this nugget of intel that offers a solution:

Absolutely no idea if this is a viable solution to the actual problem but given the circumstances, age of the printer and the onset of the issue it does seems likely. What I'd particularly like to know is why the sensor seems to differentiate between photo and plain paper, if indeed it is as fault.

The more you learn eh?...
