Hello printer experts!

I just got myself an epson 9700 because the matte black chennel is clogged.

I recently threw out TWO 7900's because of their stupid printheads.

So my question is: Does the 9700 use the same type of printhead (with less colors), or is it perhaps less prone to clogging/easier to un-clog?

Thank you?

Ronald

Apparently the exact same print head.

Also, a Service Manual (Attn: @PeterBJ ) lists both the 7900 and 9700. On Page 18 you can see how the print head allocates nozzles for ink colors even if fewer ink cartridges are used.

Web sites selling the print head lists both 7900 and 9700 models as compatible:

Another print head cleaning video:

The lack of Matte Black can be from other causes such as air or clogs in the lines, I'm not an Epson expert. Others will need to help from here.

Thanks,

I am just a bit confused since the 9700 uses only five colors (C, Y, A, M, K).

Then how can it use the exact same heas as the 7900 and 9900?
