Hi, i'm new to the forum so i'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. As the title states my Epson C44 is making a knocking sound and the printer head is vibrating as this noise is going on. Can anyone suggest a fix or i'm willing to purchase a new or used one, if you know of one for sale, as i've got loads of cartridges to use up and this printer is the only one i've used that does not chew up the delicate forms that i need to print off. Cheers - Spongey.

Try lubricating the carriage return shaft, first clean off the shaft with a lint free cloth to remove old grease. Use a sewing machine oil, or light lithium grease. Apply sparingly, and slide the carriage back and forth a few times, to be sure it moves smoothly.
