Envy 4520 - do driver updates and/or firmware updates limit cartridge choices/brick anything?

Hi:

I just came across a used Envy 4520. Did a black self-test page, and it came out mostly okay.

However, Windows 10 22H2 didn't automatically install a driver, and reported one couldn't be found.
Can I just install the webpack, v. 40.15.1230 found here:

Or will it force ink subscription/cartridge limitations/whatever other nonsense HP is doing these days?

What about the firmware update? Does any particular firmware update change any of the above?
