Hi all,

I have a set of refilled cartridges (PGI520 CLI521) that is empty (*) from around 5-6 months, can I just refill these cartridges or considering the long time I must do some preliminary action?
Ofc I will refill this set with the same ink used previously.

(*) with EMPTY I mean that the printer show them as empty. We know that the printers show the cartridges empty even if in the truth they are not.

Let me know

Thanks

You may be able to just refill and begin using but I recommend you flush the cartridges to ensure proper ink uptake when refilling and decrease risk of sludging from ink concretions on/in the sponges as well as any contamination (eg fungal) that would impede flow of ink during printing.

I would purge them with distilled water plus ammonia first. If they are DYE ink type then it will clean them like new :)
