Hi guys,

Just wondering: Do EPSON printers always run on pigment ink?

Even the ones that are re-manufactured, non-branded, refills?

The reason I ask is that I have been told to get a printer that uses pigment based ink for printing t-shirt transfers, and not dye based inks.

What do you think?

Epson have pretty much an equal balance of pigment and dyebase ink printers.

As a general rule if it's a C, D, CX or DX model that it uses pigment
R and RX series are generally dyebase except the R800, R1800, R1900, R2400 all of which are pigment printers.

Anything that was older and used a numeric only model number (eg: 740, 800, 1290, etc..) uses dyebase.

That's just a rule of thumb and certainly NOT to be used as a definitive guide...

Hope it helps :)
