Dismantling Canon iP4500

Earlier today I requested help in dismantling my iP4500. Just reporting mission accomplished with help from various sources. I also put the thing back together in ten minutes and it works! Anyone else in the same jam please post on this site and I'll try to remember how I did it!

Hi, I was searching for a way to dismantle the canon ip4500 have got to taking cover off but am not sure how to undo chassis. Did you get that far? I just want to know how to get at the screws underneath to get at waste ink pads.

Most of the help I see is an optimistic 'look for these arrows and insert a screwdriver' sort of thing.

The pic with arrow is the front underside of the printer. (take paper tray out)

It's a bugger to get them all, but the chassis comes off with just those type of tabs, and IIRC the Ip4500 they've added 2 tabs around the lid of the printer somewhere.

It's tricky the first time, but with enough patience and a flat head screwdriver you'll get it. Just go real slow and you shouldn't have to apply much force at all.
