Continuous Ink Supply System (ciss) or Refillable carts Epson PX730WD?

I have an Epson PX730WD printer which cost an absolute fortune (around 50 a time) to buy a set of Epson genuine colour ink's.

I tried a few compatibles but have found that the colour of the prints tend to fade quite quickly as opposed to prints that have been done with original Epson inks. Also I have experienced the ink drying up in the cartridge sometimes even before I've had a chance to use them.

I'm now considering buying a Continuous Ink Supply System or using refillable carts but both concepts are rather new to me so I am unsure which systems would be best to invest in, if at all.

Now the Pro's for me are obviously the cost savings but what are the known cons?

Which is a better or worse option to using compatibles?

Are any of these systems capable of producing prints of the same quality or close to genuine Epson ciara Inks?

Can anyone recommend them or a better company/system to purchase?

Basically, CISS is refillable cartridges with tubes and external ink bottles, so there is no difference in printing quality. The quality will depend on ink. Avoid noname or local brands (the type that only put someone's ink to a smaller bottles and put their sticker on it, so you don't really know what ink is inside), use a brand-name ink, like OCP, Inktec, Moorim, InkMate, Sensient etc and you'll be fine. As for fading, there is no real eqiuvalent to an OEM ink, so just print and laminate if there will be a sun exposure (pics will be fine in photo album for years but only months on the wall without lamination or glass frame). Also, try to use RC (resin coated) paper rather that cheaper regular "cast coated". This way you get much more durable prinouts (still, don't put it on the sun) with a feel of lab prints,

If you print a lot - buy CISS. Refillables, imho, only suitable for users who will need to refill them less than once a week.

If it were me, I would take the offer from ink-system, especially if it is near enough to take the printer back if you get any problems running the CISS

Have heard good things about cityinkexpress.co.uk both for service and after sales.

Its up to you actualy if your depleting any color of your six ink PX730WD within a week printing (most likely canditate is light cyan and light magenta) you could consider a CIS system with an external ink reservoir and piping. If your chaning any color withing >7 days stick to the refillable cartrige solution.

You could even upgrade your printer to archival inks with pigment no hassel or stick to dye based inks. I previously owend a p50 epson which is basicaly the same printing unit without all those multifunction its a plain printer. I used refillable cartriges with rather cheap ink. 600ml (6x100ml) for 15
