Compaq A3000 all-in-one changing inks

Does anyone know how to extract the cartridges for a Compaq A3000 all-in-one printer. The manual doesn't explain this. It does explain insertion but no amount of looking and tugging, pushing and pulling and cajoling and swearing works in the reverse. Please eMail hlbucklin@verizon.net HELP! I'm out of ink.
