I know just enough about 3D modeling, specifically Tinkercad and Onshape, to get myself in trouble.
I needed to design a unique water faucet for our Japanese soaking tub... basically something that would hook up to the garden hose and lie flat underneath the cover.
The main body parts were easy enough to design in Onshape:
Garden hose inlet on the right, the middle sits on the edge of the tub under the cover, and the left is the outlet of the water.
... The problem is that I can't design threads at all.
In fact, I've downloaded a bunch of different female garden hose thread STLs, and printed them out to find that most don't interface very well with my male garden hoses.
Well, after printing about 10 different models, one came out incredibly well and easy to thread onto my garden hose:

I have no idea how to duplicate that or import it into Onshape, so I took my Onshape design, exported it, and then imported it into Tinkercad.
Next I imported the garden hose nozzle into Tinkercad, chopped up the female STL and joined it to the top of my design:
Worked GREAT! I'll have to take a few pics of it in action!
