I have a K5400 and have been using a CIS for 3 months with no problems, then yesterday we get an error out of black ink and cannot reset the printer, any suggestions?

TIA,

Mitch

Not sure about the K5400 but normally you can resolve this sort of thing by removing the cartridge, waiting a minute and then reinserting. Failing that try power cycling (ie: turn off, wait 10, turn on).

At a guess though you may have a crap set of Auto reset chips that were meant for the K550 rather than your particular model (which needs slightly newer chips). I'd query your CIS supplier..

Well, was the ink level showing low levels on your monitor before it died?

If it did then chances are it simply didn't reset.

I really couldn't tell you for sure without more information on how much printing you were doing, etc... or details of the actual kit you got.
