I've gone through my share of printers over the years starting with my very first inkjet, an HP 500C. I moved onto a few others, had a Canon BJC-1000, a few Lexmarks (z22 + z32) an Epson, and finally the Canon i560 and i860!!!

These are incredible printers! The photo printing is as good, if not better than those I get professionally developed.

Best of all, they have beautiful separate ink tanks that are VERY easily refillable! Check out the following pages for some great information about Canon's i series printers:

I agree about the i560's but they're getting hard to find now and the new ip3000 is just about as cheap with tons more features and the same ink carts. I'm using the ip4000 right now and get great results. If you're a printer killer like me then I'd get the newest printers still using the bc6 carts before canon discontinues them.

Well, I'll tell you something. A few months ago I ran across a place that was selling refurbished i560's for $29.00!!! I picked up about 6 of them, sold the new Canon ink cartridges that came with them on eBay for $30 and sold 4 of the printers locally for up to $60 each.

I've still got two of the i560's sitting in my garage in case my i860 decides to quit on me. It's a bit of a mixed blessing actually. On one had it is nice to know I've got these backup printers waiting for me, but on the other hand I probably won't be partaking of the great new features on some of the new models. For example, I LOVE the dual input trays on some of the new IP printers.
