I accidently install the wrong color cartridge is the wrong slot. My pictures are now not the right color. I installed the Photo cyan in the cyan slot. Am I doomed ?

How could you possibly have done that, because the carts are chipped and the printer won’t accept any misplaced carts, just right your mistake and carry on..

The chips on the CLI-8 cartridges used by the Pro 9000 II should prevent printing with cartridges in wrong places, but maybe this doesn't work for all Canon printers using these cartridges? Here is a thread about a similar problem.

Is the wrong cartridge OEM or aftermarket or maybe refilled with a wrong ink?

I think that after installing the proper cartridge 2 or 3 normal, not deep, printhead cleanings will flush out the wrong ink and replace it with the proper ink.

Maybe you can switch carts when using 3rd party carts, but OEM carts are always colour specific, that’s another good reason for using only OEM carts..
