The thing I still don't understand is how the purge pads ended up covered in ink after the head cleaning attempt but yet the nozzle check doesn't show anything at all!?
The purge unit is a vital piece of the print puzzle, and if it’s not working properly then you get strange nozzle checks, that why I asked for you to check your, purge units should be given a bath every six months..

The purge unit attaches itself to the underside of the print head (Vacuum) and sucks ink out mechanically through the nozzles, (No electricals used) even if they are electrically damaged, that’s why you can see ink on the surface..

The cleaning methods you may have used much earlier well might have damaged the nozzles, that’s one of the reasons you should seek good help and advice before you try something stupid, what works for an Epson heads doesn’t mean it will work for a Canon head..

No advice given here will damage any Canon print head, we’re here to help solve your print problem and get you back printing as soon as possible.. Never print anything unless you’re sure your nozzle check is perfect first..
