Good Morning,

We recently returned to the United States after living abroad for roughly 4 years. During that time I had a Canon pro-1000 that was put into storage. In retrospect I should have undertake activity to store the printer more properly and/or sell it, but at the time thought the printer would be moving with us.

Before purchasing new ink (roughly $600), I'm wondering if I need to purchase a new printer head as well (also about $600). If so, why would I just not buy a new Pro-1000? The costs for a new printer are basically the same as the refill + printer head. Am I missing anything here? Also is the printer even likely to work after being in storage for so long?

Any thoughts or insights appreciated!

The best way to find out is to crank her up, run agitation cycle, then let printer do a cleaning cycle, when she goes quiet, run a nozzle check, that will tell all…
