If I have a defective printhead and test it I will know it is defective. But without lying I could still offer it on Ebay as "tested", I just don't tell the result of the test.

If the printheads were 100% OK then why the DOA refund offer?

Aftermarket new never opened cartridges cost $100?

As I wrote, you can flush and refill the cartridges instead. Of course refill supplies will cost money too.

There are no guarantees you will be able to resolve all the issues or resolve them sufficiently to your satisfaction.

even if there is another replacement print head available

There's the rub. What is your level of patience and finances to attempt to revive the printer as is?

The MX850 is similarly robust and would suffice without the errors.

There are some robust cars at the junk yard but they have a problem or two. If you have the time, skills, energy and money then anything is possible.

Try the recommendations - no guarantee of success - or thank the printer for its service and get a new printer.

Don't know for sure. Maybe to engender trust in the buyer and also to comport with rules for maintaining a presence to sell on Bonanza and, possible, good graces of payment processors like PayPal.
