I seem to have acquired a surplus of BK ink. I have a couple of spare PGBK 520 carts is it practical to purge them and refill with the BK ink and use in my MP620 printer? On plain paper setting.

Also would it be necessary to remove print head and flush PGBK channel ?

I am also giving the Freedom method another go. I am using Octoinks excellent cartridge clips with female luer to 1/8" barb fitting Araldited on plus a 3way stopcock valve. Ideally you need a 60ml syringe with locking feature, I could'nt find one so have adapted a BD one with a piece of aluminium. Not entirely satisfactory as it is difficult to pull out the plunger (under vaccuum) and then turn plunger 90 degrees to lock it. The end of the BD's are D shape.

The small carts fill fairly well but the PGBK being a lot larger capacity are a bit more of a challenge. That's when the stopcock comes in useful. Gigigou was the inspiration there on his excellent previous gadget
