Canon MP610 remove case/cover help!!

I dropped into the printer body one of the waste ink absorber pad when i tried to put back after cleaning it..HELP! i need to take it backk..how to open the cover mp610?....should i buy new pad or open? i got no idea how to open mp610. Anyone can help?

Same thing happened to me, same printer model. I recovered the pad after opening cover, but I didn't had to open it to bare bones, the pad didn't fell too far.

For a starter I would advise to remove the ink tanks and print head, then flip the printer overhead and gently roll and shake it. Some ink may drop on the floor so be careful.

If you're not lucky try to contact Canon. Depending on where you live you will or won't be allowed to order a new pad. If you have to open your printer, its possible I've done it and recovered the pad, but I wouldn't advise you to do so. Ask trigger37 if you have no other choice than opening your printer.
