Canon MP240 ink level reset

does anyone here know how to reset the ink level for Pixma MP240? it takes the PG-510 and CL-511 cartridges

not possible, sorry these are the same as the canon pg40 etc..no reset available.. just use them and ignore empty warnings

Ok i have got instructions for my Chinese supplier, This is the OEM factory reset for all Canon printers (so they say) also this is just copy and paste from their word document so the spelling and English is not that good.

methods as follows:(Multi Function LCD panel)
1. Enter into [service mode ] ----press button [Menu]- button [coping[--button [scan] - button [coping] button [coping]

2. Choose [Test mode ] ----press [ok] button

3. choose [printer test] ------press [ok] button

4. appear [8-3] ------press [ok] button

5. Appear [0:ink count] press [ok] button - finish the process of clear '0'

6. press [stop] / [reset] button , then press [on /off] button and go back to stand by situation

Ink level now reset.


deskjet and officejet normall printer clear 0 methods as follows :
1.Press power ( Electronic ) light buttom (no stop), pull up the power source - - The printer is in power-off condition .
2.Press the power light button continuously ( do not loose the power light button and remove your hand ) ,reconnect the power source Now the printer is in Power-Up State .
3.Press the power light button continuously ( do not loose the power light button and remove your hand ) , press paper button 3 times, loose power light Now the printer is in power-off condition .
4.Reopen power light . Now power light button and paper light button do not winking alternately. Shows the printer has already finished cleared 0 . You can continue the printing task .

Hope this helps some people.

They are not for all Canon printers.

Some printer's eg. latest MP's use manufacturer software only.

These instructions (even if you could understand them) cannot be for all Canon printers, because unless you have an All-In-One, you're not going to have a Copy or Scan button. Also, I know that to enter service mode on an MP780 you hit the following buttons in sequence: Copy-Menu-Scan-Copy-Scan.
