I have just bought a canon ip4000 and i am having some troubles.
It installed ok but when i went to align print head it started to print ejected the paper and flashed orange 11 times indicating printhead alignment failure.
I also noticed it is not printing in colour just black.
I have reinstalled the driver and checked everything but no luck.
I am running xp pro and using the parrallel port connection.
Does anyone have any ideas.
Could it be a faulty printhead.
Thanks
Joe

Remove the cartridges & place them on a piece of paper so as not to stain anything. Remove the printhead. Check for any debris, i.e. remaining packing tape, etc.. Reseat the printhead, make sure it is in position and lacked down BEFORE reinstalling the cartridges. If this fails, call Canon; they have a pretty good tech support group & will walk you through some other checks. Good luck!
