The printer costs $35 (without the promo code) and a set of ink cartridges costs $44. Why wouldn't anybody just buy a second printer?

Yeah, it's like free hardware and rebate check when you buy ink.
The rebate comes in when/if you resell the hardware :)

The Gillette business model gone wild.

Now have three of these for future use and replacement as each one dies. Last price in UK two days ago was 49.99 through Amazon which is a little more than what I would expect to pay, although I think the shortage of this item is now commanding higher prices. Still a good deal considering the cost of the cartridges alone. With a resetter and good quality refill ink it is difficult to go wrong.
Good luck

I purchased a clearance iP3300 for the ink cartridges. iP3300 does not have the CLI-BK. Therefore, the print head is no use with me because it cannot be used in my iP4500 or MX850. I did not use the ink cartridges that came with my MX850. I am thinking selling the iP3300 with a full set of Canon cartridges in Kijiji. Is C$65 (US$55) asking too much? Should I sell the printhead and cartridge separately?
