Why would you ? You won't get genuine Canon dye inks for refill , and other Canon 3rd party refill inks may suffer from a shorter print longevity due to the dye inks.

The genuine canon ink is pigment ink, and is can refill with pigment ink (even if it costs more than dye)
but is need special paper or media for pigment ink.
I try to print on any type of paper (coated or uncoated, mat or glossy) or media with best colour quality, and I understood that the dye inks are shorter print longevity.

you need coated paper for best results - with pigment or dye inks, yes - you can print on plain paper, uncoated paper with either type of ink but you won't be really happy since you'll miss good color saturation and contrast with such uncoated papers.

I try to use for a lot of media, perhaps vinyl or polypropylene ........

PP or PVC won't work with aqueous inks unless the surface is specially treated for that purpose, or you would need to switch to solvent inks - running on other printer models.

There are other print solutions on PP and PVC (or synthetic, foil) besides solvent ?
for media wich is not not speciale treated for that purpose.

you need some pre-treatment of your PVC or PP foils with a primer - something like this

https://polytexus.com/inkjet-primers-which-is-best/

or you directly buy ready made foil material for inkjet printing, there are lots of different products on the market, just as an example

https://www.easy-inks.de/private/sh...n-ipf-bj-bjw-w-serie/vinyl-backlit-filme/?p=1
Very interesting both examples, at the weekend I have some work/calculations :caf , is considerable.
