Hi all, I wonder if anyone's managed to overcome this issue or any advice to solve it?
So the support code '1206' says "the maintenance cover is open, close the maintenance cover & select ok", but the problem is that the maintenance cover is NOT open, its fully closed. This error message just won't go away, it pops up as soon as I turn the printer on (even before agitating ink etc) and I just can't seem to get rid of the message. I've run some searches online but surprisingly I can't find much info with this error message. I thought it would be more common.
The problem started when inserting a new maintenance tank after the previous one was full, so I replaced it with a brand new mc-20 canon maintenance tank but since then this error message won't go away.
I've contacted canon & they replied saying: 1. Inspect the locking tab, 2. Reinsert the maintenance cartridge firmly, 3. Hold the cover closed during startup, 4. Check for obstructions, 5. Make sure you're using a Canon-branded maintenance cartridge. I've followed all these steps but this error message has never budged.
If anyone has any help/advice to solve this issue, it would be much appreciated
I love this printer & it would be such a shame if I can't use it just because of a silly error message saying the door is open when it's not. Thanks for your time. Damien
