I have had my Canon i9900 for several years with no problems. Now, suddenly, it won't print the yellow
throughout a photo. It only prints a 1-2 inch band of yellow on the bottom of the photo. I ran every cleaning
and alignment. No change. I installed a more recent driver downloaded from Canon. No change. So I made a test print of yellow colors with some gradations and it printed fine. But then when I go to print a PHOTO, the problem is still there. Why would it print the test columns of colors just fine but not my photos? HELP!

This sound s like an air problem. Either the cartridge vent is not allowing air in, or the seal between the cartridge and print head is allowing air in. The latter is usually caused by lack of air (a vacuum) in the cartridge, but sometimes can be caused buy debris on the seal or a burr on the cartridge exit hole flange. I would try a brand new cartridge.
