Canon G2010 preferences not working

New Canon G2010 works fine but printing a little too light. Changed the ink levels on the laptop printer prefs to manual and increased the black level and contrast, the changes worked. However the changes make no difference and the printer continues to print at default levels. All other printing changes and maintenance tests work, just the ink prefs have no effect. At a loss as to what the solution could be.

This issue has been covered many times, but unless you say which O/S your using and you post a nozzle check up here, how can we be sure we’re helping and not making matters worse, in the meantime try downloading a test print from https://www.northlight-images.co.uk/printer-test-images/#cards

Print one of these test images without any editing and let the printer manage the colours..
