My Cannon MP610 died on me (got pulled of the table and got bend). I had to buy another one but unfortunately I couldnt find a 610, which worked well and I also have many ink tanks and a re-setter. This new printer, a MP630 is of cause different in every respect , and none of the equipment I have will fit. The Resetter (little red box from Germany), doesnt seem to work with the new ink tanks, PGI520 and CLI521. so I am lost how to refill the tanks in the future.

Any help how to save money would be appreciated. Tanks. Wolf

You can choose for a Canon MX850 and these should be available and the printhead is the same as the IP4500 and I think the prints are a little bit better than the ones made on a MP610.

A quick google search on "mx850 Australia" reveals that Australian price for mx850 is between A$300 - A$350.
A quick google search on "mx850 Canada" reveals that Canadian price for mx850 is between C$116 - C$270.

Look like Canon Australia is not clearing out the MX850 yet. I think they will do it soon... But it does not help OP - the need is now...:(
One month ago, my local Staples (in Canada) had 4 MX850. Now, they are all gone.

Search your local Craiglist and Kijiji for source of Canon printers that uses the PGI-5 and CLI-8 cartridges.

Thank guys (& Guls?) for your help.

However, now that I have this new printer (MP630) I have to live with it (a bit like a shotgun marriage). Does anyone know if there is a resetter for the ink tanks available, or how can one circumvent the memory in it?

Sorry for missing the point that you already purchased the MP630.

According to this supplier, http://www.inkbank.com.au, it refills like CLI-8 and PGI-5. For the time being, you need to disable the ink monitoring function on your printer until someone makes the chip resetter for CLI521. Use the CLI-8/PGI-5 procedure to disable the monitoring function.
