Hello

1-I want to buy a Canon iP4600 but there is not a refillable cartridge for this model in my country yet, so I want to refill OEM cartridges with the German method but the OEM cartridge has a chip. Will this chip make some problem for me? if yes! What can I do with this chip?

2-can i use same ip4500 ink for ip4600?

1/ yes, you can but no chip resetter available yet. You can always disable ink monitor as you do with older version. Instruction here by Pharmacist

Check on ebay. I saw refilable cart + auto resetter chips are available for ip4600 but i would wait for chip resetter and refill oem cart.

2/ I don't see any problem but color maybe off. I saw Inktec ink is available for new Canon model

Hello Davoodh,

When you refill the printer will tell you that the cartridges are refilled and will warn you that refilling will void your warranty. To overrule this warning and go on with printing press the paper/cancel button for at least 5 seconds when the printer is telling you to do so. Afterwards you can keep on printing, but the ink level status for that particular refilled cartridge will be disabled, so just check the ink level on regular basis to avoid printing without ink, which might cause damage to your printhead.

For refilling your IP4600 with IP4500 (or CLI-8/PGI-5 compatible refill ink) is no problem at all. You may want to use a good quality refill ink like Hobbicolors UW-8, Image Specialists or Inktec CLI-8 compatible ink and as Siusuenen already has pointed out: Inktec is now selling new PGI-520/CLI-521 compatible refill ink.

Note: there are rumours a resetter for this type of cartridges will be available soon on the market...
