I used WeInk.com for the past 6-7 years. However, they've closed for business. Sad... They suggested InkSupply.com (MIS Associates), which I used to use with my old HP DeskJet 990c refills (what a pain!).

While MIS may have been WeInk's supplier, I've always gotten excellent results from their empty blanks and inks. Anyone know who their supplier was?

So, the dilemma now is that I need a new place to get refill kits. Suggestions please!

Also, I'd like to have another printhead on standby just in case this one gives out on me soon. I've got that other post about banding in the 1st 1/4" of prints... I still haven't figured that out.

Thanks!

Be careful that the banding could be caused by improper ink feed by the carts you are using. I had a similar issue that flushing completely resolved. I surmised that the sponge/ink system was tending to lift the ink from the printhead channels but that's guessing.

BTW, MIS was not WeInk's supplier but Image Specialists were supplying them both.

Ahh, so would I be getting the same inks from MIS?

Did they supply the blanks too? Or, where can I get those now?

Hobbicolors Ink have worked well for me in my ip4000 and ip6000D. He also sells blank cartridges. He sells on E-Bay - don't think his website is complete yet.

If Image Specialists supplied WeInk and MIS, I should be able to safely use MIS Ink in my carts that currently have WeInk purchased ink, correct?

Anyone know where WeInk was getting blanks from?

I think the best ink refill kits for mostly all the printers is INK from inkreloaded.com i bought my kit from them and it is probably the easiest to use in my opinion =]

I use ink from inkbank.com.au in Australia but I see on their site they sell to overseas markets. I refill a HP720c and a multi function Epson RX530.

I did a lot of research before selecting this supplier and glad I did as the results and experiance has been rewarding. I guess in the long run it boils down to the quality of the ink supplied but at inkbank there is a choice of ink grades depending on the task waterproof, quick drying etc.

I have found that good quality inks have less tendency to clog.

I do not use a great lot of ink, about 50 A4 photos a month but I have not had a problem even with my HP720c which still has the same cartridges for years without any drop in quality. Who says the print heads in removable cartridges wear out.

Hobbicolors are great and well affordable. They are charging $ 8,95 for 8 fluid oz. a colour per bottle. Very high contrast and reasonable to good light fastness compaired to original Canon ink. They are actually proposing the newer UW8 ink (CLI-8 compatible) to be used in even the older BCI-6 based printers like the Canon 9900 wide format printer, since this newer type of ink has a much better UV-resistance than the older one (colour changes maybe a problem and have to corrected by your own colour profiles).
