I have 2 MFC-465 CN printers with the extended transparent Chinese LC-51 cartridges.

For years they have been 100%. Suddenly, last week, one of them failed the print test with colors.

I always used a single color purge print to clear the heads.

This time no success. Black and Yellow, OK Cyan and especially Magenta awful.

I went to the wet paper towel method and evolved to a shoe shine action with 4 sheets of extra long paper towels. No success, worse, the Magenta became 99% clogged.

I was at a flea market today and I bought an MFC-240C printer for $9.00.

At home it announced "No Black Ink Cartridge".

I went online and I found a suggestion to cut wire #5 from the 9 wire plug located just under the 3 screw panel.

5 minutes later the "No Black Ink Cartridge" message was gone and it printed Black. Yay!

Now back to the MFC-465CN.

I would like to try flushing the head with cleaner using a syringe.

Please direct me to a seller of the magic juice syringe that fits the Brothers.

P.S. I tried to see what could I use from my house to dissolve dried ink.

I tried Windex, alcohol, Cinch, water, and Formula 409. 409 seemed to 'move' the ink to the edge.

How do you clean clogged heads?
